I'll Be Your Father #13 is a Kombucha 'mother' portrait by Eric Bessel that continues to take on a deeper more saturated color and larger size.
Bessel describes the evolution of the 'mothers':
As months passed, I experimented with different organic teas and raw sugars, which yielded a deep rusty brown outer layer which when touched, rubbed away to reveal firm white flesh underneath.
I noticed that the longer I left the mothers alone in the kombucha liquid, the larger they grew.
Each print in the series is available as an artist supervised, pencil signed, print-to-order edition of (3) with (2) artist proofs. The APs are not currently available online. Purchases will be numbered 1-3 depending on availability.
