Piece Description:
Heidi Martin Kuster's Maui is from her series of oil paintings depicting hyper-magnified textures of pebbles or rocks within their environment. The composition was based on a volcanic rock she found while hiking in Maui. The piece is inspired by the way the sediment fills the holes of the rock created by gas bubbles.
